MADRAS >> Open Data

Within the frame of French-German project "MADRAS",  funded by Agence Nationale de la Recherche française and by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, we acquired field data about the dynamics of dense crowds during the Festival of Lights (Fête des Lumières) in Lyon.

These multi-scale data include large-scale flow maps, pedestrian group statistics, density maps, and, perhaps most interestingly, thousands of pedestrian trajectories in dense settings.

These field data are openly available on the Zenodo platform. Here, we provide additional information about the settings in which they were collected.

A full report of the findings was published here in open access (Scientific Data, 2025).
